Nova is a stunning girl who has come into us as a stray, she had no microchip so we have been unable to trace her owners and nobody has come forward to claim her – this means we have no background history on her.
She can be timid at times but has been building bonds with the kennel staff and has started to come out of her shell – she is a playful, silly girl when she is comfortable with you! Nova will require owners that can continue putting time + effort into her ongoing training and socialisation. She is generally a loving girl who is quite timid in kennels at the moment so we hope she finds a home soon. She can be strong on lead so will need owners that can handle her, but generally walks well. Again she can be skittish if something scares her on her walks.
We are still testing her with dogs at the moment and she can be quite timid and nervous. We are currently looking at rehoming her as the only dog, but this may change as we get to know her. We have no history on her with cats. She is looking for a home with older sensible children 16+ that can get involve with her training and give her space to settle.
Generally she is a gorgeous girl who we hope finds a home soon as she really deserves some home comforts.
Tilly and Coco are a lovely pair that came to us due to their owners change in circumstances. Although they are very different we would like Coco and Tilly to go together as they are quite dependant on eachother. Tilly is a Yorkie cross who is almost 15 years old and Coco is Chihuahua cross who is almost 6 years old. They are both sweet girls, Coco can be nervous at times and Tilly is a little oldie so we are looking for a home with patient, caring owners for them.
Coco came over from Romania originally and does have a nervous temperament and can be spooked by fast movements and loud noises at times, they have been used to a quiet home previously so Tilly + Coco will be best suited to aquiet adult only homethis time around. They have lived on a fully secure small holding environment and haven’t been used to being walked away from the home/land so they are now building up confidence.. Tilly is taking it all in her stride and Coco is improving gradually.
They have lived with other dogs and two cats in their previous home so may have potential to live with dog-savvy cats in their next home. If they were to live with another dog it would need to be a calm, quiet dog and we would do introductions to assess their compatibility.
They are looking for a home in a quiet area where they can go on calm, quiet walks. They will need secure fencing in the garden with no gaps due to Coco’s nervousness. Tilly is a very sweet, gentle girl who is very low maintenance and tends to sleep quite a lot. She is on the older side but is in good general health currently – she has had a dental whilst with us and has recovered well.
We will continue to assess them during their stay with us, but we really hope a suitable home comes along soon for this cute little duo.
Bandit is a striking lad who arrived with us after he was found as a stray, he had been running loose + scared for a few hours before he was able to be caught. Once he was safe we managed to find out some previous history on him and he had been sold to someone that morning due to his original owners ill health.Bandit had lived in the same home since being a small puppy and his previous owner advised that he was good in the home and when out and about.
Since his arrival we have been getting to know him and assessing him, it took him some time to settle and come out of his shell fully and now he is a needy, friendly + boisterous lad who forms strong bonds with his handlers. He is only young so needs owners that are committed to his ongoing training and socialisation whilst he continues to grow and mature. He has met countless dogs since his arrival with us and does have potential to live with a compatible dog in his next home as long as owners are dog-savvy and introductions go well here at the rescue.Bandit can be rehomed with older children/teenagers in his next home depending on owners experience. He is a big lad who doesn’t know his size, he is currently weighing in at 50kg and does still have some growing to do so new owners must bare this in mind. We would advise anyone interested in applying for Bandit to do some research into the breed and he is looking for a home with people who have experience of large dogs.We really hope a suitable home comes along soon for him 🙂
Remy is a really striking lad who arrived with us as a stray after being found running on the A55. No one has come forward to claim him so he is now looking for a new home. He is a lovely fella who we hope finds a new home soon 🙂
Remy was quite nervous when he first arrived but it hasn’t taken him long to adjust to life here at the rescue and he has gained confidence quite quickly and is a very friendly boy with staff. Remy is around 34kg and is quite a big boy but generally walks well on lead. He can be strong sometimes so will need an owner that can manage this. Remy is looking for a home with older children 12+ as we have no previous history on him.He is clean in his kennel which gives us an indication that he is likely to be house trained in the home. He likes going into our secure paddocks here on site and is generally a laidback lad.Remy has met a couple of dogs since his arrival and has been fine around them but we will continue to assess him during his stay with us to determine his suitablility to live with another dog. We think he will thrive in a home as the only pet as he does appear very people-orientated.He will suit a home with owners that are bull-breed savvy. We really hope a suitable home comes along soon for him 🙂
Nova is a sweet girl who has come into our care for rehoming due to her owners ill health. She is very friendly, energetic and fun!She has been used to a fairly quiet home with just two adults so is looking for a home with older dog-savvy children aged 12+ in her next home. Nova has previously lived on a securely fenced small holding alongside four other dogs, 2 cats, horses and chickens without issue so has potential to live with compatible animals in her next home as long as introductions can be done sensibly. Nova will be best suited to a home where there is atleast one other dog as she has never been the only dog in the home and is used to constant company. Nova is looking for a home where she won’t be left for long periods, and where the time she is left for can be built up gradually.
Nova hasn’t been used to going for many walks away from her previous owners land so is now building up her confidence out and about, she is taking all of this into her stride but this work may need continuing by her next owners. She is an energetic girl who will require plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep her satisfied. Nova loves toys, especially balls and does bring the ball back to you but she can be impulsive and snatchy at times. She will make an amazing adventure buddy and would likely be ideal for some sort of dog sport like Flyball, Agility or even Cani-Cross.
Nova will likely require some training in a few different areas so new owners must be willing to put some work into her if needed. She is very food orientated and greedy which will aid in her training massively. She really does have so much potential – we hope a suitable home comes along for her soon!
Kira is a sweet girl who came into us as a stray and hasn’t been claimed by her owners. Sadly this means we have no previous history on her, but we have been assessing her since her arrival and she is a nice girl.
Kira has been a friendly girl since she arrived, she’s loves a fuss and is very affectionate. She likes her walks, she is generally an active girl who likes her walks. Anyone interested in Kira will need to do research into the breed and managing their exercise in the summer – due to the breed, she can struggle with heat. Sadly Kira arrived to us with fleas which she has been treated for, but she does need a bit of extra TLC in her next home. She can be rehomed with older sensible children that can play and help with her training.
We have been mixing Kira with dogs since her arrival. She isn’t overly interested in meeting or playing with other dogs, she happy walks and doing her own thing. She can be a little timid when dogs sniff her rear, but she is a good girl and tolerates it. She will need some socialising around dogs, as it is clear she has had limited socialisation. We have mixed her off lead with another dog at the rescue, and she was great. She was happy playing with her ball and doing zoomies. She could potentially live with another dog, but it would need to be one that can respect her space while she settles. Kira has shown to have a prey drive so cannot be rehomed with cats.
She can pull on lead, so will need owners that can manage this. She is an active, very playful girl and would be an amazing companion in the home. We hope someone comes along soon for her.
Lola is a sweet but insecure girl who has come into our care for rehoming due to no fault of her own. She is a sweet girl who is only young still, so it is vital that we find her the right home.Lola is a friendly girl but can be timid and anxious in different scenarios and needs owners that can dedicate time and effort to her ongoing training and socialisation. She requires general confidence building in new areas as she wasn’t used to being walked much in her previous home – she can be hesitant to walk in new areas at times. She has improved a lot during her stay with us already but this work will need to be continued. We feel that Lola will benefit from living in a calm, quiet home and will be best suited to a home with older teenagers, she has lived in a busy household previously which she found quite overwhelming at times and the oldest child could be too rough with her. Lola hasn’t been socialised around other dogs much and can be anxious around them so we feel she will be best as the only pet, but in a home with owners who can continue to socialise her around other dogs out and about.Lola loves playing with toys and being out in the garden. We really hope she finds a suitable home soon as she is a sweet girl and has lots to learn about the world 🙂
Jem is a lovely girl who arrived with us as a stray after she was found running loose, no one has come forward to claim her so she is now looking for her forever home. She is a good girl, we have been assessing her since her arrival and she is very friendly with people and other dogs.Jem has potential to be rehomed with sensible children 6+ as long as the adults in the home are dog-savvy and responsible. She has been great with all of the dogs she has met so far and does like to play, so seems to have good potential to live with a compatible dog as long as introductions go well here at the rescue. She could also go as the only pet as long as her new owners put effort into keeping up her socialisation with other dogs when out and about on walks.Jem is looking for a home where she won’t be left for long periods, and where the time she is left for can be built up gradually. She is only young and will likely require training in a few different areas so new owners must be willing to put some work into her if needed. She is very food orientated which will aid in her training massively. She will require daily exercise to keep her satisfied – she will make a lovely adventure buddy! We really hope she finds a suitable home soon 🙂
Pickle is a friendly, sweet girl who has come into our care for rehoming with her friend Harry due to their owners change of circumstances. She is generally quite a timid girl and is a little bit bewildered here at the moment but she is a friendly affectionate girl once she gains a bit of confidence.
She is an affectionate and cuddly girl who does like company, once she has settled and you let her approach in her own time. She likes being out and about on walks and generally walks really well on the lead. Pickle has lived with another dog before and she has potential to live with a compatible dog as long as introductions go well, but would also be fine as the only pet as long as he wasn’t being left for long hours as she has been used to a lot of company previously.
Out on walks, she loves a good sniff and will plod alongside you, but will need quieter walks as she settles into the home. She can live with visiting children 14+ in the home, that can play and walk with him but also respect her space. Typical of the breed, she can be a little bit anxious, please reserach into the breed as they can have prey drive. She cannot be rehomed with cats.
She is generally a lovely girl who is still quite scared of kennels at the moment so we hope she finds her forever home soon.
Georgie is a gorgeous girl who has come into our care for rehoming due to a change of circumstances for her owner. She is a big girl who has weighed in at around 45kg and is at a good weight currently. She is in good health for her age and loves being out and about on walks, but does tire quite quickly. We are building up her fitness gradually, but she will benefit from a couple of short-medium length walks a day rather than one big long one. She does have playful moments and can still be active at times.
Georgie has been in the same home for four years since they bought her from another family. She is generally well behaved in the home, we have been told that she isn’t destructive and is fine to be left for a few hours, she is used to going to the groomers and travels well in the car. She does require at least 6ft fencing, due to trying to escape on occasions in her previous homes.Georgie loves her food, being out and about but also likes to chill and sleeps a lot these days. She is generally good around other dogs and has lived with two Bulldogs previously (one male, one female) so does have potential to be rehomed with a compatible dog in her next home – a medium to large calm dog will suit her best, due to her age we feel she would struggle with a young playful dog in the home. She will also thrive as the only pet and being the centre of attention. She is looking for a home with older teenagers.
Georgie is a clever girl knows commands like sit, paw, lie down, roll over and knows some hand signals.
She is looking for a quiet adult only home with owners who have experience of large breeds. She generally walks well on the lead but due to her size she can be strong when she wants to be, her previous owners have used a Dogmatic headcollar on her to help manage her strength if/when needed. She does have some age-related deafness and has had ear infections in the past, but at the moment she is in good general health but cannot be spayed due to prior complications under anaesthetic – we can talk to potential owners more about this and they will be able to speak to our veterinary team.
Although she is only nearly 9 years old this is quite old for a dog of her breed and size, so new owners should bare this in mind. We really hope this doesn’t put people off as she deserves some love and comfort in her remaining years. We really hope she finds a lovely home soon.
Winston is a lovely little live-wire who has come into our care for rehoming due to no fault of his own. He is a very friendly cheeky boy who loves people and being out and about exploring. He is an active lad who needs plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep him satisfied. He has lived with children before so can be rehomed with sensible children aged 6+ as long as they are used to dogs and the adults in the home are sensible and experienced. He is generally friendly with other dogs but can be barky with them at times when out and about so will need more work in this area. He has lived with another dog before and had other dogs visiting so does have potential to live with a compatible dog as long as introductions go well here at the rescue, but new owners must be able to dedicate the 1-1 time and attention he will need to improve his behaviour out and about whilst he is still young. He will also thrive as the only pet and would love being the centre of attention.
Winston loves playing with toys, travels okay in the car and is generally a happy little guy. He is a typical terrier and we are sure he will appeal to fans of the breed. We really hope he finds a new home soon!
Jim is a friendly boy who was originally a transfer from another rescue, he has been with us since May 2025 and has sadly been returned to the rescue twice due to his owners not being able to cope with his behaviour. We hope his next home will be third time lucky and a great match will come along for our Jim soon.
Jim loves cuddles and is friendly with strangers, he forms strong bonds and can get quite excited around people especially those that he particularly loves. He is a bouncy energetic boy and needs a firm handler who can spot when enough is enough and calm him down before he becomes too overstimulated. Jim loves playing with toys, doing zoomies and chewing on a bone, he is very playful but also happy to take himself off for a snooze or to occupy himself for a while. Here at the rescue Jim has made many canine pals and does enjoy playing with other dogs, he can however be too much for some dogs due to how bouncy and energetic he is. He does have potential to live with another well-balanced dog who is well matched to him and his play style but will also thrive as the only pet.
Jim travels well in the car and enjoys his walks, he walks beautifully on lead when calm and will happily hop a stile when out on an adventure. He will need a secure garden with 6ft fences in his next home. Jim is muzzle trained due to his tendency to mouth heavily when overstimulated or excited, staff can advise on this and offer support. For this reason any potential owners will need to make a few visits to build a bond with him and work alongside staff before taking him home. Since his return we have been working hard with him and this work will need to be continued.
Jim is looking for a home without children, he needs experienced owners who will be firm but kind and set boundaries. Jim does need ongoing training and has not had a great start in life but we are confident that in the right home he could be an amazing companion. He is a firm favourite with staff and volunteers and we would love to see him flourishing away from the rescue.
Meet Chester – your future best friend 🙂
Chester is a big-hearted, lovable goofball who’s ready to find a home of his own. Found as a stray, he went straight into foster care and has proven himself to be an absolute star ever since.
We think Chester is around 1–2 years old, with all the fun and curiosity of a young dog. He’s fully housetrained, sleeps soundly through the night, travels well in the car, and can be left for short periods with a canine companion. He’s also great with other dogs and dog-savvy children.
Chester is a clever boy who learns quickly and would really thrive with someone who can continue his training and keep his mind engaged. That said, he’s just as happy curling up on the sofa for a cuddle. He truly has the best of both worlds: playful oversize puppy and a wonderfully relaxed nature.
Like many young dogs, Chester has a few quirks. He’s very food-motivated (which makes training easier!), but it does mean unattended snacks may mysteriously disappear. He’s also quite the athlete with an impressive jump, so he’ll need an extra secure garden to keep him safe. And while he loves other dogs and could live with compatible dogs in his next home, he’s not suited to homes with cats or small pets.
Chester hasn’t had the easiest start— he was very underweight when found, but his joyful, affectionate personality shines through. He’s a big softie who gives the most amazing cuddles and approaches life with pure enthusiasm once he knows you.
All Chester needs now is someone to call his own—a person or family to share adventures, sofa time, and lots of love.
Could that be you?
Chester is currently in a foster home and isn’t on site at the rescue. Please send in an application form and we can arrange for potential adopters to meet with him and his foster-carer 🙂
Maverick is a very sweet, bouncy lad that came to us a stray. He was initially very nervous and wary with us but has grown into this friendly and energetic lad that is now looking for his forever home.
Maverick is only young, and it is clear he has not experienced very much of the world. He was quite timid when he first arrived and took a couple days for him to come out of his shell. Now he is an affectionate lad who loves a fuss, but he can be a handful on lead. He will need a strong owner that can manage his strength and start lead training with him. He can be jumpy and boisterous off lead, especially if balls are involved so he is currently looking for an adult only home. We can assess this as we get to know him.
He will need plenty of training in his next home, he clearly hasn’t had much training before here. He will need a very active home where he can get lots of exercise, as well as mental stimulation. He is quite a stressy boy here so will need owners with similar breed experience to manage his energy levels and concentrate on his training.
We have started testing him around dogs now that he is more settled with us, at the moment with slow introductions he calms down around calmer dogs but can be unsure and vocal around bouncy or larger dogs so will need further socialisation training in the home. We will keep working with him on this during his stay with us and we can go through this in more detail with anyone interested in him.
Generally, Maverick is a great lad with so much potential and this is very much wasted in kennels.
Rosie is a really sweet girl who arrived with us as a stray, sadly it is evident that she hasn’t been cared for as she deserves previously and came to us in poor condition. After routine vet care and a good diet, she is already starting to look and feel better and her fur is even starting to grow back!
Rosie is a loving girl who adores affection and having cuddles, she has been super friendly with everyone so far! She is quickly becoming a favourite with volunteers. She can be rehomed with sensible children that can give her lots of attention but also get involved in with training. We hope people aren’t put off by her looks as she is an incredible girl, who very much deserves to be spoilt in her next home.
She has been friendly with other dogs during our stay so far but we are still learning about and assessing her. We will be assessing her further to see her suitability to live with another dog – we would need to do introductions here at the rescue to make sure the dogs are all happy and compatible. She is not yet spayed (we will be doing this when suitable), so if she was to be rehomed with a male dog they will need to be neutered. She can be snappy with dogs that get in her face or are too playful, so the other dog will need to be very calm and be quite an independant character. Otherwise, Rosie will also thrive as the only dog in the home, as she will love being the centre of attention and having lots and lots of attention!
Generally she is a fab girl who we hope she isn’t here too long as she very much deserves a comfy sofa to snore on!
Shadow is a really handsome Shar-Pei who has come into our care for rehoming due to his owners mental health. He is a nice boy who has lacked stability in his life so far and has been passed around a couple of homes, so we need to ensure that we find him the right home so that he can settle down.He is only young still and really trainable, Shadow is a good lad who can be very playful and cheeky. We are still assessing Shadow but he has been around children in his previous home, so does have potential to be able to live with dog-savvy children aged 8+ in his next home. His previous owner has said that he is fine to be left alone for a few hours, he travels well in the car, is house trained and knows some basic commands.Shadow is friendly with other dogs on walks and has lived with a female French Bulldog in his previous home. He does have potential to live with another dog in his next home as long as the dogs are compatible and introductions go well here at the rescue. Shadow is loves being out and about exploring and will benefit from daily exercise to keep him happy and satisfied. He can be pully on lead so will need further training in this area which we will start with him whilst he is in our care. We will continue to get to know him and assess him during his stay with us, but we really hope he finds a lovely home soon!
Callie is a pretty girl who was rehomed from us in 2024. She has recently been returned to us due to a change of circumstances in the home, and Callie becoming too much for her owner to handle as a result of this. She doesn’t cope well in kennels so we really hope we are able to find her the right home soon. She came into us as a stray orignially so we don’t have previous history before 2024.
Callie is a sensitive girl who is looking for a home with owners who are used to managing dogs with some behavioural issues – in general Callie is well behaved in the home, she is fine to be left alone for a few hours and isn’t destructive, is fully house trained and is fine to be handled all over by people that she trusts. Callie sadly isn’t good with strangers in the home/out and about or other animals so is looking for a specific type of home due to this. She can be reactive and stressy on walks in busier areas so will be best living in a quiet area, her previous owners would also hire a secure paddock for her twice a week which she loved.
Callie needs owners who are physically capable of handling her and are willing to work on her issues with her with our support. She is more wary of men than women due to past experiences. She is food motivated which helps with her training and she really does have a lot of potential with the right owner.
Callie is looking for a home as the only pet in an adult only home as this is what will suit her best. Callie loves running around in our secure area on site, especially playing with toys! When you know her, she is incredible affectionate and sweet. She’ll happily sit on your lap for cuddles and of course, treats are her favourite thing! She is quite a stressy girl in kennels so we hope a home comes along soon.
Lassie is a sweet girl that orginally came to us as a stray. We have found out more about her from a previous owner and found that she has quite an sad and unsettled life, so we really hope someone can give her a very loving forever home.
Lassie is a typical energetic, friendly collie. She has been very friendly with people and dogs since she arrived. She is quickly becoming the staff’s favourite! She loves playing with balls, especially in our off lead paddock and will happily play chase all day. She loves her walks and has been fine around cows and traffic so far. She does pull sometimes on lead, so will need some general training and someone very fit and actve to provide her with plenty exercise. She can be a bit timid of new environments but generally she is a veyr happy and friendly girl.
We have been testing her around dog and she does seem friendly and happy to play. We are currently looking at rehoming her as the only dog but we can reassess this as get to know her. She can be rehomed with children 12+, who can get involved with her training and play with her. She is quite a stressful girl, typical of her breed, so is getting quite upset being in kennels. She would be best suited to someone who can give her plenty of physical and mental exercise, and won’t leave her alone too much.
What we know of her past is that she has quite a few homes within a very short time and has been passed around. She lived with another dog for a short amount of time, and did growl at the other dog while eating. They had no other incidents with Lassie and other dogs. She also lived with young children and was very friendly and well behaved.
We really hope a lovely home finds Lassie soon, as she throughly deserves to be spoilt and well loved in her next home.
Bunny is a lovely girl who has come into our care as a stray and no one has come forward to claim her, so she is now up for adoption and looking for a new home. Bunny only has three legs – this doesn’t hold her back or phase her at all! She is a friendly girl who loves meeting new people and giving hugs + kisses, she can be boisterous at times so we feel she will be best suited to a home with sensible children aged 12+ in her next home – she is still under assessment so this may change in the future.During her stay so far she has shown interest in playing with other dogs – we will continue to test her around dogs during her stay with us. She may have potential to live with a compatible dog in her next home, one that is similar sized will be best. We feel that she will also thrive as the only pet in the home. Due to us not having any history on Bunny she is looking for a cat free home. She loves her walks and being out and about so will require daily exercise in her next home. She can pull on lead at times so will need more work in this area.We really hope she finds a new home soon so that she can get back to enjoying home comforts 🙂
Dre is a lovely lad who came into our care as a stray and no one came forward to claim him so sadly we have no previous history on him. Since his arrival we have been getting to know him and assessing him, and we have found him to be a lovely boy. He is well behaved here in kennels and tries very hard to stay clean which indicates that he is likely to be house trained in the home. He walks well on the lead and loves to be out and about exploring, he likes to potter and sniff everything possible!
We have started assessing him around other dogs and he has shown to be hit and miss around them, he can get a bit grumpy when meeting them so we feel he will be best in a home as the only pet. We feel that he could be rehomed with sensible dog-savvy children aged 8+ who will respect his space when needed.Dre loves meeting people and has been friendly with everyone he has met, he has started to go out for short walks with our volunteers and really enjoys them. He needs a home with people who have done some research on the breed as they do require some extra care especially in warmer weather. He does have some sensitive skin so we are trialling him on a stable high quality diet currently. He is very sweet and cuddly and will thrive being the centre of attention in a home environment so we really hope he finds a new home very soon.
Ruby is a sweet girl that came to us a stray which means we unfortunately don’t have any background information on her, we have been getting to know and assessing her since her arrival and she clearly is a young girl who hasn’t had the best start in life. She is a lovely girl with a lot of potential so we really hope she finds her forever home soon.
Ruby was initially very timid when she first arrived here, but she has quickly come out of her shell and she is a very playful and bouncy girl! She loves chasing balls in our off-lead paddock, and is very much enjoying her walks. She will need a home where she can get plenty of exercise and adventures. She can be quite boisterous and jumpy, so will need owners that can manage her bouncy side. She will also need general training and socialisation as she clearly hasn’t seen much of the world as she can be timid with new places.
She has been friendly with dogs since her arrival, but we are still testing her at the moment. We could look at her compatibility to live with another dog, pending how well dog mixes go at the rescue. She will have some separation anxiety in the home as she is very clingy here and does get very stressed alone in her kennel. She will need to be with people that won’t leave her alone for long periods and who are willing to work with her on this.
Ruby does need good amount of training and exercise so people will need to be dedicated to her as she is very young and needs to learn the world isn’t so scary. She is a lovely girl so we hope she isn’t waiting here too long.
Fenrie is a gorgeous young American Bulldog who is looking for his forever home, we really hope he finds a suitable home soon as he is at a vital age for training and socialisation.
During his first few days here he was terrified and very shut down but has been coming out of his shell since and is a lovely cheeky fella. He is getting braver on walks now too, he clearly hasn’t been outside much previously but he is learning to enjoy it and does like to explore. He will require daily exercise to satisfy him in his new home. Once Fenrie grows in confidence he is a typical boisterous young Bull breed – he will need a strict routine and boundaries in place when he goes to his new home to help him settle in to his new evironment.
Fenrie is looking for a home where he won’t be left for long periods especially whilst he is so young and still settling into his new home. His new home will need to be with owners that are used to bigger breeds and are able to commit to his training. He lacks manners and does tend to jump up, but is very food orientated which will aid with his training.Fenrie can be rehomed with older teenagers in his next home. He has met a few dogs here at the rescue and has been friendly with them but will need ongoing socialisation around them. He does have potential to live with a compatible dog in his next home as long as introductions go well here at the rescue. We really hope a suitable home comes along soon for him 🙂
Hooch is a friendly, happy boy that came to us due to his owners ill health. He arrived with another dog, Rocky, we can look at homing them together or separate.
Hooch is a very friendly and affectionate boy who is a big wriggler! He does a happy dance when meeting his friends and playing with his ball. He is quite overweight so will need to be on a diet with plenty of exercise in his next home. He is a strong boy so will need owners that are strong enough to manage him and will need some lead training in his next home. He will also need recall training too, as he pretends you don’t exist!
He can quite jumpy and excitable so will need in a home with older dog-savvy children aged 10+. He is a friendly boy and has been good with other dogs since his arrival. He could potentially live with another dog, depending on how mixes go at the rescue. Also, he could be an only dog, so he could have all the fuss! He does like human company so would be suited to a family that wouldn’t leave him too long.
He is a very friendly, happy boy that loves playing with his toys and being around people. He will need some training in his next home, but generally he will make an amazing companion in a family.
We can look at rehoming Hooch and Rocky together, however both of them are very strong and pull on lead. They both need training so will need very committed owners who can handle both of them.
Rocky is a friendly, excitable boy that came to us due to his owners ill health. He arrived with another dog called Hooch, they get on really well together so we can look at homing them together or separate depending on the home.
Rocky is a very friendly boy that enjoys his walks, he would be an amazing walking buddy. He has been friendly with everyone he has met so far! He is a strong boy so will need owners that are strong enough to manage him and will need some lead training in his next home. He does have poor recall, this would need to be established before letting him off in any unsecured places.
He can quite jumpy and excitable so will need in a home with older children 10+. He is a friendly boy and has been good with other dogs since his arrival. He has potential to live with a compatible dog in his next home as long as introductions go well at the rescue. He could get quite bored when left for too long, so would be better with someone who wouldn’t leave him alone too much.
He will need 6ft secure fencing in his next home as he has previously escaped gardens. Rocky is a very cheeky, happy boy that loves playing with his toys and being around people. He will need some training in his next home, but generally he will make an amazing companion in a family.
We can look at rehoming Hooch and Rocky together, however both of them are very strong and pull on lead currently so it can be hard to manage when walking them alone. They both need training so will need very committed owners who can handle both of them. We really hope a lovely home comes along soon for them both 🙂
Lily is a really sweet girl who was handed in as a stray, sadly she wasn’t in very good physical conditon and was very underweight but with regular small meals and a decent diet she is now starting to look and feel much better.Lily loves people and has been friendly with everyone she has met, she has started to go out for short walks with our volunteers and really enjoys them – she equally loves running around our secure paddock and playing with toys! She is a comical girl who makes us smile. She can be rehomed with sensible children 10+ in her next home, she can be quite snatchy around food so children must be savvy around dogs. Lily has met a couple of dogs here at the rescue and can be quite tense and unsure when meeting them so we feel she will be best as the only pet in the home, we will keep assessing and socialising her during her stay with us. She is very sweet and cuddly and will thrive being the centre of attention in a home environment so we really hope she finds a new home very soon.
Sebby is a very excitable and energetic lad which is typical of his breed. Unfortunately he has been recently returned to us due to his behaviour shown in the home.He had spent 3 months in a boarding kennels due to his owners ill health, then brought to us for rehoming, but unfortunately he has missed out on alot of his social and environmental development. He is looking for a home that has previous experience of Weimaraners, with people who are also willing to work with our behaviourist to ensure his behaviours are managed correctly in his new home.Sebby is a very clever and playful lad, who loves to learn new things.Sebby can be a strong boy, but now walks lovely on a Gen-con to help with his strength and make his walks more enjoyable. This needs to be continued by his new owners, to ensure he is under control whilst out and about on adventures.Sebby does suffer from seperation anxiety, which is a typical trait of his breed, but we hope in time to come, with the correct input, this can be improved. He is such is lovable and friendly lad, who throughly enjoys human company and would love cuddles on a big comfy couch. He adores adventures through the woods and getting his nose into what he can whilst out and about. He can be a tad unsure of noisy lorries, but has now learnt to stop and wait until it passes by, whilst looking back at you for reassurance.Since arriving with us, he has spent time around other dogs at a distance, as he doesn’t know how to fully interact with them.He is wanting to interact but doesn’t know how to fully, so will need gentle guidance with this over time, to build his confidence around them, so is looking to be the only dog in the home.He has a huge amount of potential to be a fantastic canine companion as he is great company to be around. We feel Sebby could live with older children aged 14+, who are used to large bouncy dogs.Sebby is showing signs of being toilet trained, but will need added input in his new home.We really hope he doesn’t have to wait long for his furever home!
Velma is a cheeky, friendly girl that was dumped here on site a few months ago. We found out some information on her past after her owner got in touch with us. Sadly Velma is going to need an operation and is looking for a calm, loving foster home for her recovery. We will be aiming to get her into a foster home before her upcoming surgeries and can give more information to any one interested in fostering her – she will need a long term foster home until she is sorted medically and can be rehomed.
She was very timid and scared when she first arrived and it took us a while to gain her trust and to see the now cheeky and playful side we know Velma has. She can be a little timid with new people but she is quicky won round with treats. She is dog friendly and does like meeting dogs and will play and chase well off-lead. She is looking for a home as the only dog, as we can’t risk an accident while she is recovering in her foster home.
She recently had a sleepover with one of our staff members and she was amazing. She was fully housetrained and well behaved in the home. She had some extra TLC with a shower and chilled in the kitchen, and was a great girl. She settled and slept well through the night!
Velma is going to need surgery on her neck due to a condition called Dermoid Sinus. We have a specialist vet that can do her operation but she sadly keeps getting a re-accuring infection which is why we are having to wait for this – this is why we want Velma to find a foster home prior to having the surgery. Her new foster family can speak and get plenty of tips and advice from our vets and the specialist in preparation for the operation. Any check ups etc can be done at our vet practice (during our opening hours) so she would ideally need a foster home local to the rescue centre or with fosterers that are willing to travel.
Velma is a Thai Ridgeback, weighing around 17kg. She is spoilt (and sometimes lazy) at the rescue and is fine with being handled and picked up and carried. She is generally a very calm and quite girl who definitely deserves some TLC.
Drax is a sweet boy that originally came to us as a stray, he recently was adopted but sadly returned for being too much for the resident dog. We really hope that his next home is his final home as he is a very loving boy.
Drax was quite timid when he first arrived as a stray, he could be quite nervous meeting new people but this has got better while he has been with us. He is a very friendly boy and always loves a good cuddle. He loves his toys and treats so he is very easy to train.
He was very well behaved in the home, just too excitable for the other calm dog in the home. Going forward we are looking for a home with Drax as the only dog. It is very important that his new owners are dedicated to training him and working with him on his ongoing socialisation. Here at the rescue he is generally friendly with dogs but apparently in the home he could be barky with other dogs when out on walks – we will continue to work with him on this during his stay with us but new owners will need to do the same.
Drax has shown to have a high prey drive so cannot be rehomed with cats or small furries.
Drax settled well during the day when he was left alone so can be left up to 4 hours, he was fully housetrained in the home and generally well behaved. He did have 4/6ft fencing but would jump over them so would need 6ft+ fencing and to be supervised in the garden.
Drax does have a medical condition called Distichia, where he has extra eyelashes irritating his eye. These have been removed recently but will return so will need further treatment. We can give more details to anyone interested.
Generally Drax has had a unsettled few months and with him being so young, this can affect him going into adulthood so we really hope he finds his next home soon as he is such a friendly boy and deserves a lovely home.
Jinx is a lovely boy that came to us as a stray. Unfortunately no one came forward to claim so we have no history on him, he did find a new home but has been returned and is now looking for a new home. He was returned to us due to some of the behaviours he was showing – his new owners found that he can struggle being alone and can be reactive to other dogs at times, and can be unsettled on walks in the dark. He has been introduced to some dogs and has been fine with them – he will need owners who can continue his socialisation and won’t leave him alone for long. We can explain more to anyone interested in rehoming him.
Jinx is a very sweet lad, he is friendly with people and enjoys his walks, he loves a nice calm walk where he can do plenty of sniffing. He would be best suited to a quiet home where he can settle at his own pace and be walked in a calm/quiet environment. He can be rehomed with sensible teenagers 14+.
Jinx is looking for a home as the only pet with owners who have plenty of time to dedicate to him. He has so many amazing qualities and is a clever boy. He knows sit, paw, spin and jump for treats. He is fully house trained and is generally well behaved in the home. He is good with visitors and travels well in the car.
Jinx cannot be rehomed with cats or small furries.
We really hope someone comes along soon as he is a little stressed being in kennels and he really wants a home with all the comforts.
Crosby is a handsome lad who came into our care as a stray recently, he was very scared and defensive during his first few days here so we have taken our time to get to know and assess him and now feel that he is ready to start the search for the right forever home.
His new home would need to be a quiet adult only home with people who are confident and experienced with dogs. He has started to show us his sweet and cheeky side recently. He is looking for a home as the only pet and will need owners that are dedicated to being patient with him and working with him to help him grow in confidence further and thrive. In general Crosby is quite a chilled low energy boy but he does love his walks and being out and about exploring. He will need a secure garden to potter in during the day time. He likes toys and is food motivated which will help with his training. Crosby can get over-excited at times and has mouthed arms on a few occasions so we will continue to assess him and work with him on this during his stay with us.
Crosby can be strong on lead so needs owners who are physically capable of handling him. He is looking to be the only pet in the home as he can be hit and miss when meeting dogs here on site.Anyone interested in rehoming Crosby must be willing to visit him a few times at our site in Trelogan to build a bond before taking him home. We know his rehoming requirements probably come across as being limited and specific but we have to get it right for him. We really hope the right home comes along soon for him 🙂
Taz is a wonderful boy who has sadly been with us for a few years now, he was originally signed over due to his owners ill health. We did find him a new home and he was in this home for 8 months but then was sadly returned to us as he had started to show some guarding issues in the home when new people have reached forward and tried to stroke him. We have also seen this behaviour from him here on site, but he has improved massively during his stay with us. He is happiest when with his trusted handlers and is a loyal boy who will make an amazing companion to the right person.
Taz can be a little unsure of new people to start with but really doesn’t take long to get used to them, but he is looking for a home with someone that will respect that he generally isn’t the type of dog that wants to meet and be interacted with by strangers when out and about. Anyone interested in rehoming him would have to be willing to come and visit Taz a few times to build up a bond before taking him home. Once a bond is formed and his personality starts to show, he is such a comical boy who is lots of fun and has lots of character. He needs a calm adult only home.
Taz is a really clever boy who can respond to basic commands like sit, lie down, both paws, and can also wait on command. He loves water and tennis balls – they are his absolute favourite. Don’t even get us started on tennis balls IN water! He loves to play in our secure off lead areas and is a cheeky lad. He travels well in the car and recently enjoyed an outing to the beach with a member of staff and was brilliant.
Taz generally walks well on the lead but can be strong at times, especially if he sees squirrels. He needs an owner that will be willing to put some effort into his training and have a calm home and steady routine/boundaries in place as he has spent a few years in kennels.
Taz does not like other dogs much so a quiet home in a quieter area would be perfect for him to be able to relax and enjoy himself as he loves being out exploring. He has a lot of potential given the right home and we really hope he gets a chance of a forever home soon.
Tyson is a sweet and energetic boy who found himself in our care as his previous owners were unable to devote the time he deserves. He has been with us for a couple of years now, and we really can’t understand why! We really hope he gets a chance of having a forever home soon.
Despite not receiving any training or being walked on a lead until he came into us, Tyson is eager to learn and has already shown improvement during his time with us. Tyson is a friendly boy with people and will meet his best friends with a big jump and a kiss! He will be a great adventure companion as he is always eager to go for walks and explore new places! However, it’s clear Tyson hasn’t seen much of the outside world as he can be overwhelmed sometimes. However, with a confident handler, he will thrive in a home. Tyson is looking for a home with adults only.
Tyson isn’t a fan of other dogs and will bark at some especially if they bark at him first, other times he is happy to ignore them and carry on sniffing – he loves quiet walks away from busy areas as he can relax fully then. He can be strong on lead at times so new owners must be able to handle his strength. Tyson is a big lover of toys so would love a garden of his own to play in but requires high fences.
Overall, Tyson is a wonderful dog with a lot of potential, and we are confident that with a patient, loving, and experienced owner, he will thrive and make a great addition to any family.
Iris is a sweet girl who came to us in 2023 via another rescue. She is originally from Cyprus, and came over to the UK in September of 2022, and has been in kennels since.
She is a big girl – her recent weight is 46kg. She is a very sweet girl who loves people and being with you, but is also quite happy to go off and do her own thing. Iris is a sensitive girl who can get spooked by sudden movements and they can cause her to flinch and cower away submissively. She will need a calm and gentle home where she can learn to trust and to be confident in new situations. It has been years since she has lived in a home environment – if she ever did in Cyprus, during her stay with us she did go to a home on a trial and was there for a month but this unfortunately didn’t work out. When she first went to this home she was too scared to come inside from the garden but gradually gained confidence with this. Typical of her breed she can be vocal at times and will suit a home in a quiet area. Iris’ ideal home would have a large secure garden for her to potter around in as she does enjoy chilling outside.
Iris is not dog friendly and despite us trying to work with her during her stay with us she can be very reactive to dogs here on site and also has been in her previous placements, and due to her size she is very strong on the lead when she does react so would need owners that are physically capable of handling her strength and are used to strong big dogs. We have trained her to walk on a gen-con headcollar which helps to manage her strength. Iris will walk past some dogs with no reaction but can take you by surprise as there is no known pattern of which dogs she will or won’t react to. Iris is a chilled and laidback girl who will not need walking every single day, she will require quiet areas for exercise and will benefit from going to secure off lead areas to have a good run every now and them.
She could potentially live with older teenagers who are calm and understand to take things at her pace. She is a lovely girl with the best run in the paddock when she gets zoomies and loves to chase a tennis ball!
Iris is a really lovely girl who will thrive in the right home.
Solo is a really sweet and loving boy who came into us due to no fault of his own and he is now looking for his new forever home where he will be spoilt and loved.
He is a playful lad who enjoys being out and about on his walks, he can be quite strong when he wants to be but will settle down once he gets going. He is looking for an active home with people who will take him on lots of enjoyable adventures! He can be rehomed with sensible children 14+ who are confident with dogs.
Solo has a very sweet temperament, he was understandably timid and unsure when he first arrived but it didn’t take him long to come out of his shell and turn into the loving boy we now know. Solo can be timid of some men due to past bad experiences and can take a bit of time to trust, but he has improved massively during his stay with us. Food seems to be the way to his heart!
We have introduced Solo to other dogs and he seems to really enjoy their company, he likes to play but can be a little full on at times. We will continue testing him in this area but we do think that he has the potential to live with a compatible dog as long as the introductions went well here at the rescue.
Solo has recently been out on a foster placement to give him some respite from kennel life, and further proved to us that he is such a good boy. He settled brilliantly in the home, loved being out on his walks, travelled well in the car, he was housetrained in the home and is fine to be left alone for a few hours at a time and is generally a chilled out lad in the home environment. He is now back here at the rescue, and we’d love for him to find a forever home soon. He will make a loyal companion so we hope a suitable home comes along soon for him 🙂
Lola originally arrived with us as a stray which meant we had no background information on her, she was with us for a few months and then did find a new home but was returned to us after 6 months due to her behaviour in the home. She is friendly with people and loves being out and about exploring on walks – she would walk all day if she could! Her ideal home will have a big secure garden for her to run around and play inbetween her walks.Lola needs further training in a few areas so any new owners must be willing to work on things with her – she is very strong on the lead and is quite an anxious dog in general so any new owners must be able to handle her strength. In her previous home she showed issues around being stroked at times even though she would seek out the interaction initially, she would ask for attention and then at times would panic and snap. This is not a behaviour we have seen from her at all at the rescue and she has been back with us for a few weeks now.
Lola’s ideal home would be a quiet home with one or two adults only, and with people who are confident with dogs and willing to adjust to a dogs needs. She can be anxious if there are visitors to the home so management will be needed in this area too.Lola is fully house trained and loves to run around our secure paddocks playing with toys. She is looking for a home as the only pet as she can be hit + miss with dogs and doesn’t like cats. Anyone interested in her must be willing to come and visit her a few times to get to know her and build a bond before taking her home. New owners will have our support and will need to be patient with her whilst she settles in and adjusts to her new home.
We know her rehoming needs are quite specific but we really hope the right home comes along for her soon.
Rocky is a friendly boy who came into us as a stray. He was found very underweight and scared and no owners have come forward to claim him. We have been spending extra time and love with him to build up his weight and he has become a very affectionate, happy boy.
Rocky is a sweet boy, who can be very timid of new environments but does look to the handler for guidance. He can be friendly with people and loves a good fuss and a cuddle, but we have noticed he can be nervous and reactive to strangers. This is something we are monitoring and generally he is a friendly lad, but due to this behaviour we are looking for an adult only home.
He was initially very timid, but has started coming out of his shell with staff and volunteers and we are seeing his cheeky side. He can be jumpy and quite strong on lead, so will need owners that are quite strong. We have started gen-con training him so this helps with his strenght. He will need owners that can manage his weight (he is currently on raw food) and exercise levels, and owners that can help with his socialisation as he does need some confidence building out and about.
He can reactive to dogs here, he will pass most dogs fine but can get intimiated and barky with dogs that are too boisterous or barky towards him. He will need to be the only dog in the home. Rocky is only young and his first year may have been scary for him since he came to us underweight as a stray, so will need owners that understand this and put in the extra TLC in his new home.
We hope he isn’t in kennels much longer as he is a very sweet boy.
Angus is a handsome lad who originally came into our care as a stray and no one came forward to claim him, we did manage to find him a new home but he has sadly come back due to being too much for his owner. He is now looking for a new home and we hope he finds a suitable active home soon as he is a friendly lad who is sadly struggling with kennel life.
Angus is friendly and likes to meet people and is always very interested in his surroundings, he will make a great adventure buddy for someone as he is quite confident and loves being out and about walking.
He can be quite strong on the lead here and will require ongoing training to help with this but we also feel he will calm down quite a lot once he is out of kennels and is getting a lot of exercise. Angus likes running and sniffing in our secure paddocks, at the moment he doesn’t have any recall so he will require training in a few areas and will thrive in a home with owners who have the time to dedicate to him. He is looking for a home with sensible teenagers 14+. He is looking for a home with 6ft fences in the garden and he will need to be supervised when let out there as he did turn out to be a bit of an escape artist when he first went to his previous home. He is looking for a home where he won’t be left alone much as he thrives on human company.
In his previous home he would get quite barky when he saw other dogs, this isn’t a behaviour he displays here at the rescue much and we do think with the right owners this will improve. He is looking to be the only pet in the home but with continued socialisation out and about.
We hope a suitable home comes along soon for this handsome boy!
Barkby is a handsome big lad who came in to us after being found as a stray, sadly nobody came forward to claim him or give us any information on him, so he is now looking for his new forever home.
He is a big playful boy with lots and lots of love to give, he doesn’t quite realise his size at times and tries to greet everyone he meets with lots of enthusiasm! He would definitely benefit from a home with people who had an interest in training and the patience to help teach him some manners and boundaries. This has been started with him here at the rescue and he is doing so well! Although he means no harm anyone interested in him will need to be confident with big dogs.
Barkby absolutely loves playing with toys and running around the secure paddocks here at the rescue and he enjoys being out and about exploring new places too. He can be quite strong on lead but we are working on this and he is already showing improvements when calm, this will need to be continued when he goes to his new home in order to have full control of him when out walking.
We have introduced him to a variety of dogs since being with us and he seems to really like their company! He loves to play but as we expected, he can be too full on for some dogs. We will continue to assess him and mix him further but we do think he may have the potential to live with a compatible dog as long as the introductions go well here at the rescue, but would equally be fine as the only pet too. We feel that he is best suited to a home with sensible older teenagers due to his size and how excitable he can be at times.
Barkby is very eager to please, is quick to learn and is highly trainable – he is very food motivated and focuses on his handler well. He really does have so much potential, he just needs someone with time to put into him!
We really hope that he finds his forever home soon as he will make such an amazing companion 🙂
Skar is a friendly girl, who arrived as a stray very scared and frightened. We have been spending extra time with her and she now shows her playful, cheeky and loving side!
Since she arrived as a stray we have no history on her. She was very shut down the first few days but slowly started coming out of her shell with the staff. She now has some regular volunteer walkers and has formed a strong bond with them. She is more comfortable with women and can be quite timid of men, but this is something we are working on. Skar is looking for a adult only home as she is quite an intense/highly-driven dog and will be too much for children. She does get quite attached to staff here so we think she will have some separation anxiety so she’ll be suited to a home where she wont be left for long periods.
She is very playful and loves a game of ball and chase! She is very smart and already knows some tricks including, ‘sit, wait, fetch, paw, bark, middle’ etc so someone has put in work with her training. She will be best suited to an active home where someone can stimulate her both physically and mentally as she is very smart and eager to learn.
She has met a few dogs whilst here with us and generally ignores them, but when up close she can be hit or miss on how she gets on with the dog. We feel that she will be best in a home as the only pet as she will require a lot of one-to-one attention and training. Initally she was quite timid with veterinary treatment but this is improving and we can discuss more with potential adopters.
Skar is a typical Malinois and needs a home with owners that are familiar with the breed and their needs.
She does find kennels very stressful and easily gets very overwhelmed here so we hope she finds a home soon as she is lovely girl who isn’t getting enough exercise and stimulation here at the rescue.
Titan is a young, energetic boy who came to us due to his owners change of circumstances. He did find a home but was returned due to them struggling to manage his behaviour. He is a typical teenage dog currently and does try does push boundaries, he needs owners that will be firm but fair with him and input a steady routine and boundaries to help him settle within the home – we will advise on all of this.
Titan is a sweet, friendly boy who is still young and full of energy. He will be a great adventure buddy where he can go on long walks and have lots of socialisation. He will suit a home where he won’t be left on his own for long periods, and where he can get lots of mental stimulation as well as physical exercise in order to satisfy him.
He enjoys his toys and playing, travels well in the car and very friendly when meeting people out and about. He can be quite strong on lead initially so will benefit from training in this area. In the home he can be possessive over toys so new owners should be aware of this – again, this is something we will advise on and work with him on during his stay with us. He can also be quite mouthy/grabby when over-excited and over-stimulated.
Titan is fine passing dogs on walks, but he has never lived with another dog in the home so he is looking to be the only dog as this is what he is used to. He is also looking for an adult only home.
We hope Titan finds a home soon as he does find kennels quite stressful and he would love a garden to run around and play in. He is still a young boy who needs owners who will be dedicated to putting time and effort into his ongoing training and socialisation.
Angel is a sweet girl who was understandably very nervous when she first came to us after being handed in as a stray, unfortunately nobody has come forward to claim her so she is now looking for her forever home.
We did manage to get some more info about her from a member of the public which has given us an insight into her background, unfortunately, her past is a sad one. She did recently find a home but was sadly returned a couple of days later due to the owner struggling to manage her when she got overexcited and started heavily mouthing. This beautiful girl requires plenty of patience and understanding after all she has been through.
She is an extremely loving girl once she gets to know you and loves to give you lots of cuddles! Due to mistreatment when she was younger she can be unsure of new people initially, especially of men but but can be won around quite easily once she knows that you are not going to hurt her. She has sadly had quite a hard life up to now with no stability, and would really benefit from a home with people who will be dedicated to her and her socialisation.
Angel absolutely loves running around playing with toys, especially tennis balls! She is an energetic girl and will require plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation in order to meet her needs. She would be the perfect running partner/adventure buddy for someone!
We have been introducing her to other dogs and she seems to get on with them really well out and about, she can potentially live with another dog as long as introductions went well here at the rescue. Due to her being a timid girl, she is looking for a home with sensible older teenagers.
We really hope that the right home comes along for her soon as she is struggling with kennel life.
Jessie is a sweet girl who was returned to the rescue as her owners were unable to cope with her behaviour. She has sadly been in and out of our care for a few years now so we’d really love to find her the perfect match soon.
In the home she is described as being perfect, she is fully housetrained, friendly with visitors and loved sunbathing and playing ball in the garden. She is a very cheeky, lovely girl who loves a cuddle and a good run round playing hide and seek! She does love her toys as well, and chasing tennis balls. She will find any bit of sunshine to sunbathe in and likes being wrapped up in her blankets at night.
She can be quite reactive to other dogs on walks and with dogs passing outside. She is gen-con trained so she is easier to manage once you know her traits and with good lead control, she walks beautifully. When she first came to us, she joined off-lead mixes with multiple dogs and was very playful, however an incident in a home caused her to become very nervous and fearful of dogs. It is larger breeds that Jessie is reactive to, so she needs quitter walks where she can have calmer walks to do plenty of sniffing. We will give full advice and support with this as she settles into her new home.
So far, she’s had an unsteady few years in kennels so we really hope her next home is her final one. She is a gorgeous girl who will flourish in the right environment. Anyone interested in Jessie will need to come to the rescue a couple times to spend time with her. She is a firm favourite with staff and we love her cheeky side, we hope someone comes to see her soon as she really deserves a forever home.
Recently Jessie has had a short-term trial in a home, where was very well behaved and was very good passing dogs on walks. With correct handling she is very responsive to training and learning new commands. She travels very well in the car, settles at night and during work hours. She enjoyed napping in the garden and burrowing in blankets on the sofa. Jessie is very nervous and reactive to veterinary treatment, especially areas around her neck, ie, holding her collar and spot-on treatments. We can explain this in further detail with anyone interested.
Waffle is a big striking lad who was handed in as a stray in bad condition, we have no background history on him sadly but have started his assessments now that he is more settled at the rescue, we will be continuing to assess him further during his stay with us but we feel that he is ready to start the search for a suitable new home.
When Waffle first arrived he was petrified and defensive but we have been working with him and now we see his cheeky, playful side. He was quite underweight when he arrived but he has been gaining weight at a steady rate. His confidence is building around people, and has a few regular volunteers who he loves, but he can be very strong and bouncy when saying hello! He will need owners that are physically quite strong who can handle him, he enjoys giving staff a work out on walks with doing the zoomies!! He clearly has had any training before coming to us so will need a dedicated owner, he is a super clever boy who has just about learned ‘sit’ with us! He does walk well on lead, but will like to play and jump around, but generally he walks very well.
Initially he can be hand-shy and flinches if you move too quickly around him and he is easily scared by things, loud noises or new enviornments, but he is a generally confident lad who is taking all these new things in his stride. Waffle loves running around in our secure off lead area and is very playful!
We are still assessing Waffle around other dogs but so far he can be a little timid initially but is very playful once introduced correctly. He is a very big lad who does not know his size, and can become quite humpy with other dogs. We will continue to assess him, at the moment he is looking for a home where he is the only pet in the home.
We are looking for an experienced home for Waffle – with owners that have Cane Corso (or another similar breed) experience as he can be typical of his guardian breed and is quite strong-willed. He will require owners that will be firm but fair with him and they will need to input a steady routine and boundaries with him to help him settle and thrive. Due to us having no background history on him he will need owners that are willing to train and work with him so that he can reach his full potential.
Anyone interested in Waffle must be willing to dedicate time to coming up to the rescue to build a bond and get to know him well before he went to his new home. We really hope a suitable home comes along soon for him 🙂
Phillip is a handsome lad who came into our care as a stray in June 2021, so he has been with us for a long time now bless him. He has been rehomed once but was returned after a week due to his behaviour/showing aggression towards visitors in the home.
Since Phillip has been with us for so long we know him really well now and do feel that he will make an amazing companion in the right quiet home, he will suit a home with minimal visitors and owners who will be sensible and seperate Phillip if needed when people do come over. He tends to bond to people quite quickly and is generally a friendly lad but he can occasionally take a dislike to some people so any new owners must be confident on managing his strength and reading his behaviour. He is a loyal boy who is a great companion on walks and loves his trusted people. Due to his history he needs a home without children and cannot be around visiting children either.
Although the above paragraph may come across quite negative – we do have to be honest as we really would love to find him the right forever home, he is currently in his prime years and it is so sad that he has been waiting for so long. He will be the perfect adventure buddy as he loves long walks, playing in water and generally exploring. Here at the rescue he loves running around the paddock and splashing in the paddling pools. Once he gets to know you, he’ll be your loyal companion and will shower you with love and attention. He is looking for a home as the only pet, he is usually good with most dogs he meets but does take the occasional disliking to some. He does have good play skills and with further socialisation we know he will continue to improve.
Although he has been here for a few years now, please don’t let that discourage you, Phil really is an amazing boy who’s a favorite among our staff and volunteers.
If you’re interested in adopting Phil, we encourage you to fill in an application form and we can have a chat and invite you for an appointment – please note that he will require multiple visits to get to know him and receive guidance from our behaviour team. Phil has a lot of potential and we’re confident that he’ll make a great addition to the right home. Come meet him and let’s find him his forever family!
Holly is such a beautiful girl who came into us as a stray, she is now looking for her new forever home which we can’t wait for her to find as she is wasted in kennels!
Holly is a lovely girl who has lots of love to give! She is affectionate and cuddly with people she knows but can be initially quite timid, she is easily won round with treats! She can be timid of new environments but does tend to look to her handler for guidance. However, once she settles she really enjoys being out and about on adventures or running around our secure off lead areas here at the rescue! She can be a bit strong when she wants to be but walks really well on a gen-con. Her recall is quite hit and miss, typical of her breed! But she is very food motivated which definitely helps with training.
Since she has been with us she has met a large variety of different dogs and has been fantastic with them, she walks well with them and has also showed great social skills when off lead with them too. She has the potential to live with a compatible dog as long as the introductions go well here at the rescue. Being a hound Holly would not be suitable to live with cats or other small furries.
Due to her coming into us as a stray, we don’t have any background history on her but she has been in two foster homes. In the first home she was quite timid to start with and then did have one incident where she was very growly and defensive with one of the handlers. We have not seen this behaviour at the rescue or in the second foster home, so we think this was a inidividual event due to new environments. In her second home, she was rehomed with two smaller, older dogs which unfortunately she was too bouncy for them. She was very well behaved, good in the home and generally a good girl with the other dogs. We can explain her more to anyone interested.
Overall she is an amazing girl who is a firm favourite here at NCAR and we hope a suitable home comes along for her soon.
Reece is a stunning boy who came into us after being transferred to us from a pound, they had ran out of space and he was due to be euthanised, so we stepped in to save him and he has been with us since. We would love nothing more than to see him find his forever home!
He is a really sweet lad who does struggle with kennel life at times. He is really friendly with those that he trusts and definitely seems to think he is a lapdog! He really enjoys being out and about on long walks, or playing fetch in our secure paddock area – he would do this all day if he could!
Reece can be quite anxious in new situations and around some new people – men in particular. Unfortunately, due to him coming from the pound we have no record of his previous history. Due to this he is looking or a quiet adult only home.
Reece mixes with other dogs on a daily basis and does enjoy their company on walks. He isn’t keen on sharing his toys though! We think he would be better as the only pet but would benefit from continued socialisation out on walks.
He is a sensitive boy and does struggle with sudden loud noises, he just wants to hide or cuddle up to you, but is anxious about walking when there is gunshots going off close to the rescue. We have a good routine with him when this happens and he does seek comfort from those that he trusts.
Reece would thrive in a calm home that can help him learn to stay calm in stressful situations. He is very clever and eager to learn and he adores playing with toys. He needs some training in a few areas, but with the help of an experienced and loving home who the NCAR behaviour team will work alongside, we are sure that he can reach his full potential.
We hope that there is a loving family out there who can give Reece the second chance he deserves and help him become the best dog he can be!
Atari is a beautiful girl who originally came into our care as a stray, she was rehomed for a short period but was returned as unfortunately she didn’t get on with the other dog in the home.
She is a lovely and affectionate girl with people she is familiar with, she can be a little unsure of some men but is easily won around with treats and is much better when she is able to approach in her own time.. we have been working on this with her during her stay and she has built bonds with many male volunteers since her arrival. She has clearly lacked socialisation before coming into our care but due to her only being young still, with the right people by her side we know she will blossom.
Atari generally interacts well with other dogs when she is out walking and tends to ignore them, but we now know that she isn’t keen on sharing her space/home with other animals. Due to this, she is looking for a home where she will be the only pet and get all of the attention to herself! She will benefit from further socialisation with dogs. Atari can be rehomed with sensible teenagers 16+ due to her occasional nervousness, size and bouncy behaviour at times.
She really loves being out and about exploring, she generally walks well on lead once her excitement has worn off! She loves playing with toys and pottering around in the garden. She is looking for a home where she won’t be left for long hours as she loves having company, in the home she was being left for 4 hours max and settled well – just hide the recycling from her!
We really hope that she finds her forever home soon as she has so much potential to be an amazing companion for someone.
Dolly is an anxious girl who came to the rescue as a stray. She was rehomed but was sadly returned to us due to her owner struggling to manage her nervous behaviour when out on walks.
When Dolly originally came into us she was absolutely terrified on arrival and took some persuading to become friends. She is very food motivated so we have been working on her issues with strangers by everyone she meets giving her lots of treats. This will continue to be a work in progress when she goes to a new home.
She does lack confidence when out walking and is easily spooked by a variety of different things, and she can take some persuasion to get her walking. Off lead in our paddock, she is super playful and loves burning off some steam! Dolly does get very anxious of other dogs, and although we have started to work on this with her, we would be looking for a home as the only pet in a home and this work will need to be continued. All advice and help will be given by our behaviour team here at NCAR.
Due to her nervous nature, Dolly is looking for a home without children living in the home or visiting. She needs a home with owners who are calm and confident and can build Dolly’s self esteem. Underneath her fear – she is a sweet girl who deserves a second chance!
Sadie is a lovely girl who has been returned to the rescue after her owner sadly passed away and the family member who was looking after Sadie didn’t feel that they could give her everything she needs, so she is now on the hunt for a new home.
Sadie is a very clever girl who knows various commands and loves to learn. She can be nervous of some new people (men in particular) and doesn’t like bikes so needs further training and socialisation in these areas. She is well behaved in the home and has good manners which include not getting on the sofa unless invited, she is completely house-trained and travels well in the car. She likes being out and about exploring and is used to daily walks.
Sadie is looking for a home as the only pet as this is what she has been used to. She is looking for owners that are willing to put time and effort into her training and socialisation as she does have a few things that need working on, this work has started here at NCAR but will need continuing when she goes to her new home. Full behaviour advice and support will be given to anyone that is interested in Sadie.
Overall she is a really loving girl and we hope a suitable home comes along soon for her.
Scout is a handsome boy who came into our care after being found as a stray. Unfortunately he wasn’t claimed so he is now looking for his new forever home.
Scout is a friendly boy who enjoys meeting new people and getting lots of attention. He loves his walks and taking his time sniffing anything and everything, and splashing in puddles! He can be quite strong on lead at times but he is gen-con trained. However, he will require further lead training when he goes to his new home.
He can be vocal towards other dogs when out and about and will pull towards them and be can quite strong when doing so. He is looking for a home with people who are willing to work with him in this area and walk him in quieter areas to start with. All training and guidance will be given by the NCAR team.
Scout is looking for a home with sensible older children 14+ and as the only pet in the home.
Since being in our care, we have noticed that Scout unfortunately doesn’t have very good eyesight and he does have quite weak back legs. But we really hope this doesn’t put off potential adoptors as he is a very cheeky and cuddly boy. He will only require shorter walks or plays in the garden.
Gizmo is a really handsome boy who came into our care as a stray, unfortunately nobody came forward for him so he is now looking for his new forever home.
He is a friendly boy and enjoys meeting new people and getting lots of attention. He is an energetic boy and really loves a good run around in the secure paddocks here at NCAR, he loves playing with toys and playing fetch, it is probably when he is at his happiest!
We have started introducing him to other dogs and he has been interacting well with them after the correct introductions have been done. When he see’s them out and about, he can get a little frustrated at times but this is improving daily and we will continue to work with him whilst he is with us, but for now he is looking for a home where he is the only pet.
He is ideally looking for a home where he won’t be left for long hours as we do feel that he may potentially suffer with some separation anxiety. He can be homed with sensible older children aged 14 years + who are happy to get involved in his training.
We really hope he finds his forever home soon as he is struggling with kennel life.
Rory is a lovely lad who came into us as a stray, he is now looking for his new forever home! He was sadly in quite a sorry state when he arrived in our care, but is doing mucb better now thanks to some much needed TLC!
Rory is a huge character and that absolutely loves to give lots of cuddles! He is after a home that can cope with his energy and playfulness and will take him for plenty of walks and give him a lot of mental stimulation as well. He doesn’t fully know how to play with toys yet but we are getting there and he loves anything involving food! He can be quite strong on the lead especially when there are other people and dogs around but will require basic lead training in the home which we are working on here and will advise any potential owners.
When he first came to us he was obviously quite shy but now he loves all people he meets and is very affectionate. He may jump up with excitement and can be quite full on at times. He is looking for an adult only home.
Rory initially very scared around dogs when he arrived and did not know how to behave or interact around them and would become quite vocal and panic. We have been working on this with distraction and handling techniques which we can show to potential owners. So he will need owners that are patient with him, and can strict with his behaviour on walks. He would need walks that are quiet, he can also be reactive to other animals. He does need to be socialised in order to keep making progress around other dogs. Unfortunately Rory has had no interest since being here, he can be a handful but he is a really loving dog that just needs a chance. The kennel staff can explain more to anyone interested.
He really is a brilliant boy who will never give you a dull day, he just needs a home where owners will put time into socialising and teaching him in order for him to thrive.
Elsie is a gorgeous girl who came to the rescue as a stray. She is a very bouncy girl who doesn’t seem to have had much input into her training. She is mostly deaf which makes her training a little more complex.
She is a funny girl who will chase balls and toys around the paddock, and she very cheeky as it becomes a game when we’re trying to catch her! She is full of energy so she will thrive in a home where she will get plenty of exercise, she would be an amazing adventure buddy. She does know some hand signals which help to calm her down and sit. She is very clever and eager to learn new things, anyone interested in dog training, Elsie would be great! She does likes other dogs, and so we do feel going with another dog may help her training but she is very full on and with her size, she can be a bit too bouncy.
She does get easily fixated on moving objects, such as leaves blowing and likes to chase them on walks. She is gen-con trained which helps with her strength. She sometimes gets nervous of large and fast moving traffic, she needs a bit of guidence with the outside world. She goes out with voluteers and staff, and loves nothing more than going for a long walk, plenty of sniffing and exploring and she will always sit on your lap after a walk for cuddles! She definitely doesn’t know her size!
Elsie has so much potential and her character really is lovely. Due to her size and lack of manners, we would be looking for a home with older children in their teens who will want to get involved in her training. We really hope she finds some interest soon as she really is an amazing dog.
Tyga is a super sweet and adorable boy who came into our care as a stray.
On arrival it was very clear to us that he hasn’t had much exposure to other dogs as he is reactive towards them and struggles when they are in close proximity. This is something we are working on so he feels more comfortable out on walks.
However, when he is in the company of humans, he is absolutely lovely and very cuddly. Tyga is a lurcher at heart and loves to run around and play in our paddock. He is a bit shy and lacks confidence, so he will need an experienced and patient owner to help him overcome his fears and become a more self-assured dog with a home with confident teenagers aged 16+ at the moment but with improvements in his behaviour and the right family this could change.
Tyga will need to be the only pet within the home, including dogs, cats and small furies so he is able to settle and have full concentration.
Tyga will need 6ft fencing as a minimum requirement and the fences must be solid and sturdy so he can’t see through them or break through them. He will need a home that is dedicated to his training but also sensible with his handling. He will need to be kept on a lead forever when outside of his home and must not be let to run loose. He has begun gen-con training which he is responding really well to making walks more controlled and so he walks by your side.
Rest assured, our behavior team is dedicated to assisting any potential adopters with managing Tyga’s reactivity and boosting his confidence.
He has so much love to give to his new family and we hope he does not have to wait much longer!
